Mrs. Burton is in her sixth year as principal at Rohwer Elementary. Before coming to Rohwer, she spent 3 years as the Administrative Intern at Ackerman Elementary. Prior to that, Mrs. Burton was a Literacy Coach & Interventionist for 5 years at Ackerman Elementary in Millard. She has previously worked for Omaha Public Schools and the Bakersfield City School District. Mrs. Burton graduated from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. One day she was invited to be a guest reader at an elementary school and realized that education was her true calling. She returned to school and attended California State University – Bakersfield to obtain her teaching certificate. She continued her education receiving a Reading Endorsement from UCLA, Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Doane College. She is currently pursuing her Superintendent Endorsement and doctoral degree through a blended program from UNK/UNL. When she is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and biking.
